Hands Of Many Colors

Today did not turn out like any of us expected it to, and consequently Kate and Jacob are now spending the night at our house tonight. :-) While Kate was asleep on the couch (being sick, and having made a visit to the doctor), Jacob spent his time coloring with Monica. Here are some pictures Monica and I took of him.

The Crawford Observer

I just set up a new blog on WordPress called The Crawford Observer. I want everyone who reads this blog, and who is a resident of Crawford (or Oglethorpe County,) to visit the blog and set up an account. Then send me your email address so I can add you as a Contributor. It's my goal to recruit people from the local area, and have them all contribute to a community blog that will serve to inform and educate the citizens of Crawford, Georgia.

So click here to visit the new blog, and if you have any comments, thoughts, or suggestions, feel free to drop me an email on the site. Thanks, and I hope to see some of you on The Crawford Observer soon!

Finally

Well, I'm not sure if the Windstream guy was sneaking around the outside of my house messing with things (because he was supposed to be hear this morning, and I never saw him), but our Internet if finally back working again! *huzzah!* I feel out of touch with the world enough as it is, without TV, but when the Internet is down also...that's just a little TOO much isolation. :)

Anyway, I'm back now, so it's all good. I hope everyone has a great week. Take care.

Woeful Haiku

Internet is down,
We don't have a connection;
Want to be online.

Okay, so our Internet connection is down for some reason, and the only way we can get online is with our cell phones. There's a technician coming on Monday morning to test the line, but we might not be able to get online for a day or two. :(

The Rock

No, this is not a post about Dwayne Johnson. It's just some pictures I took of Clare and the kids playing on the big rock outside the Oglethorpe Library. Clare's already posted some on her blog, but here are a few more (hopefully there aren't any duplicates.)

Back In Business

Well, I tried the same trick I used last time my computer buggered up, and thankfully it worked again (for now anyway.) I opened the case, and switched the power cables around on the hard drives, and so far things seem to be back to normal. I still really need a new computer, but for the time being at least this one seems to be working again, which is good, because I'm really lost without my computer.

----------------------------------------------------
On a completely different note, we had a Cutco Knives rep come to our house today, for a "1 hour" field sales "training" meeting. He knows some friends of ours, so we were asked if he could come give us his sales pitch to practice his selling techniques. One hour turned into 3, and we both ended up making purchases from him (Heather Thompson is here right now too.) He's a little odd, and long winded, but he knew his products pretty well (and uses many of them himself), so with a little practice he should make a very successful salesman. We ordered the Snack Pack, in classic black, which includes their 2 3/4" pairing knife, their Trimmer knife, and the main thing Monica wanted, their Spatula Spreader. They should arrive within a couple weeks or so, and they'll make fun additions to our knife collection. :)
I guess that's about it for now. Monica and Heather are outside somewhere, we've got the start of another venison stew simmering in the Dutch oven on the stove, and I'm listening to Conception while I type this blog. With a little luck, my computer will behave and keep running, and life will go on as usual.
I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that you have an enjoyable and productive week this week. Take care.

Pooched

Well, it would appear that my computer is pooched again (that's computer speak for buggered up.) This makes me really annoyed because now I don't have access to all of my photo editing programs, music I just saved to my computer last night, or anything. For the time being I'm back sharing Monica's laptop, which means I can at least get online still, but I can't do too much more than that because I only have access to files that I've backed up to my external hard drive or my flash drive.

Anyway, I hope to get the computer back up and working (at least somewhat) in the immediate future, but until then I might not be around as much. It's really time for a computer upgrade, but I guess I'll have to win the lottery first. *sigh*

Take care everyone, and have a great rest of the weekend. :)
